I believe books made out of paper are becoming a thing of the past which makes me sad to say. Almost every book that was ever published along with every book that comes out is available for an e-reader. They are also very easy to use. Even my 84 year old grandmother has an e-reader and uses it daily. My brother and I read paper books more than our parents do.
While I do share your sentiments about the trend of books switching to eBooks, I think there is something positive to be said about them. Take your grandmother, for instance. I'm sure it's much easier for her to carry around the same e-reader than it is to carry around a pile of books, or even a single book if it is particularly large.
ReplyDeleteI think it's interesting to see how new technology like e-readers are appealing to the older generation rather than the newer. I know I myself also prefer the classic, tangible book but my parents too prefer the e-readers.
